Janelle Brown is an American author and reality TV star who rapidly rose to stardom as the former second wife of American TV personality and famous polygamist, Kody Brown. She starred in the hit TLC series Sister Wives alongside her family members.

Janelle was born on 6 May 1969 in the United States as Janelle S. Schriever. Her mother is Sheryl Usher while her father Robert Schriever passed away in 1972 when she was 3. Further, she has a sister named Carrie. 

Later after Janelle's marriage to her former hubby, Kody Brown, her mom Sheryl married her then-in-law and Kody's late father William Winn Brown, who died on 24 August 2013. 

Also, she is a graduate of Bountiful High School. She later got her bachelor's degree and later got a job after marriage.

First Marriage to Adam Barber

Before becoming Kody’s second wife, Janelle was previously in a monogamous marital relationship with Adam Barber, Meri Brown's brother. The former spouses tied the knot in April 1988 in a private ceremony in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.

Actually, the couple was still teenagers during their togetherness. So they did not have any children together. Two years later, they ended their marriage in June 1990. 

After the marriage, Janelle contained to be friends with her sister-in-law Meri and in a soap opera twist, married Meri's husband as a sister-wife.

But she has implied that they mutually decided to end the matrimony because it wasn’t a good fit.  

Second Marriage to Kody Brown

She met her future husband Kody Brown in 1988, through her first hubby's sister Meri. But after their divorce from Adam, it took her three years to join the Brown family.

At the time, Janelle was from a monogamous family, but after meeting Meri and Kody decide to join the lifestyle.

Despite not tying the knot until 1993, they decided to enter an official courtship. Then they exchanged the wedding vows in a spiritual ceremony on January 20, 1993. They have never been legally wed.

Sadly, Kody and Janelle's relationship came to an end in 2022. The couple had been distant for some years and it was after Christine Brown decided to leave Kody that Janelle also called it quits.

They are Logan Taylor, born on May 21, 1994, Hunter Elias, born on February 9, 1997, Robert Garrison, born on April 16, 1998, Gabriel, born on October 12, 2001, and daughters Madison Brown, born on November 3, 1995, and Savanah, born on December 7, 2004.

Janelle and Kody are also grandparents to three children, The children were born to their daughter Madison and Son In Law Caleb Brush.
